Dioscorea Discolor in a 5cm nursery pot.
These beautiful established cuttings are propagated from my mother plant and are a firm favourite at home! We advise that you do not repot until the next growing season, or when you see roots peeking out the bottom of the pot (meaning it's rootbound, which is a no no if you want this guy to keep growing and getting bigger!)
Also don’t panic if the large leaf dies off, as long as there is new growth your baby plant will keep putting out bigger and better leaves.
Keep this baby warm and in a very bright, well fed, in a warm & sunny spot. It likes a bit of humidity too at around 60% for perfect foliage. Foliage dies back in winter, so keep dry then.
Please beware this is not a plant for a beginner but easy is care and really rewards you once you get it’s conditions right. I advise you do your research on its care before purchase.
Water only when the top 2 inches of soil is dry as they do not like wet feet and can rot easily if left to wet for long periods of time. Feed weekly with diluted plant food during the growing season.
Note: Plants as pictured, select from the drop down menu, some leaves may not be perfect, some are already showing their few baby tendrils! Last picture shown is the mama plant!
Colours may vary slightly depending on your monitor settings. We have tried our hardest to represent the true colour of leaves in the first reference image.
